Fees & Policies

Fees:
Most insurance plans that allow you to receive out-of-network services will reimburse you, in whole or in part, for our sessions. When looking into your insurance coverage, be sure to clarify that you are inquiring about your out-of-network outpatient mental health benefits. I will provide a receipt for services rendered for you to submit to your insurance plan for reimbursement.

I offer a first-time consultation at a reduced rate, to provide the opportunity for prospective clients to meet me, express their concerns/reasons for seeking therapy and for me to provide feedback and/or make recommendations about how to proceed.

Cancellation Policy:
Once you have committed to therapy, I ask that you honor a 48-hour cancellation policy. For example, if our appointment is on Thursday at 1:00 pm, then you will need to cancel by Tuesday at 1:00 pm, in order to avoid being charged for the session. This way I am able to give the appointment to someone else.

If you cannot keep your regularly scheduled appointment, I will offer an alternative day/time as a “make-up” session, if my schedule allows. If you attend your “make-up” session, then you will not be charged for the original cancellation.

Availability:
Generally, I am able to return phone messages within 24 hours of the time of your call.  If you call on the weekend, I may not be able to return your call until the following business day.  If I am on vacation, and am unable to receive or return messages, I will provide you with the name of a colleague, if you need to speak with someone while I am away.

Emergencies:
In the case of a life threatening emergency, call 911 or proceed to your local hospital emergency room.
